Program Overview

The objective of this Master's program is to build on the education received during the Bachelor's degree, emphasizing the deepening of knowledge in Spanish and Hispanic-American literature and civilization, and to encourage research in this field.

The training proposal will consist of a series of multidisciplinary courses and seminars focused on specific areas of the studied literatures and civilizations. It aims to consolidate, broaden, and deepen the knowledge acquired at the Bachelor's level and to develop initial theoretical and practical critical analysis skills of texts, particularly in civilization, but also in the literature of the Hispanic world, while offering students (if they wish) the opportunity to specialize in one of these two fields.

This program will provide students with a better understanding of the diverse civilizations, cultures, and literatures by exploring literary productions and associated theories. Literature seminars will be taught in relation to civilization seminars to encourage an interdisciplinary approach and to dissolve the idea of rigid separation between the two disciplines.

The seminars and courses offered by our specialists will introduce students to the critical analysis of literary and historical texts, considered as testimonies and expressions of the history of civilizations. At the same time, students will be introduced to research tools necessary to develop the skills required for producing a scientific research thesis on an original topic in Hispanic and Hispanic-American civilization or literature.
