Algerian universities offer general academic programs based on the LMD system structured around three academic cycles.

-Bachelor’s Degree : requires three years of higher education. The programs are based on the core fundamentals of each specialism.

-Master's Degree : A two-year program, which provides students with advanced knowledge in a specific field. Students must complete a final dissertation defended in a public viva voce examination.

-PhD Degree: involves three years of academic research, during which candidates prepare and submit a PhD thesis, defended in a public viva voce examination.
