Enrollment of International Students

1)  International Students: Legal Framework

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 25-83 of February 20, 2025, which defines the conditions and procedures for admitting foreign students into Algerian higher education and training institutions, international students are eligible to enroll in Algerian universities provided that they are admitted by the host institution based on the number of available academic seats allocated annually and that they cover the tuition fees required for their studies.

2)  Enrollment Procedures:

The application file must include the following documents, depending on the intended study cycle (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD):

For a Bachelor’s degree application:

•   High School Diploma (Baccalaureate)

•   Translated and certified copy of the High School Diploma

•   High School Transcript

•   Translated and certified copy of the Transcript

•   Nationality Certificate

•   Copy of the first page of the candidate's valid passport

•   Motivation Letter

•   At least one Recommendation Letter

•   Medical Certificate proving the candidate is free from bacterial and/or contagious diseases

•   Recent Passport-sized Photo

For a Master’s degree application:

•   Diplomas (High School and Bachelor's Degree)

•   Translated and certified copies of Diplomas (High School and Bachelor's Degree)

•   Transcripts (High School and Bachelor's Degree)

•   Translated and certified copies of Transcripts (High School and Bachelor's Degree)

•   Nationality Certificate

•   Copy of the first page of the candidate's valid passport

•   Motivation Letter

•   At least one Recommendation Letter

•   Medical Certificate proving the candidate is free from bacterial and/or contagious diseases

•   Recent Passport-sized Photo

For a PhD application:

•   Diplomas (High School, Bachelor's, Master's, Engineering, Architecture, Medical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences)

•   Translated and certified copies of Diplomas (High School, Bachelor's, Master's, Engineering, Architecture, Medical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences)

•   Transcripts (High School, Bachelor's, Master's, Engineering, Architecture, Medical Sciences, Veterinary Sciences)

•   Translated and certified copies of Transcripts from academic programs

•   Nationality Certificate

•   Copy of the first page of the candidate's valid passport

•   Motivation Letter

•   At least one Recommendation Letter

•   Medical Certificate proving the candidate is free from bacterial and/or contagious diseases

•   Recent Passport-sized Photo

•   Copy of the Master's Thesis or Internship Report

3)  Authentication of Academic Documents

The authentication of academic documents is carried out by the relevant services of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Following authentication of diplomas and verification of the submitted academic transcripts, the Equivalence Department issues two documents: a certificate of equivalence of the provided degree (in accordance with the Algerian Degrees classification) and a document establishing the equivalence of the grades provided in relation to a corresponding Algerian grid.
