- Employability is essentially in research-training.
- Opportunities to effectively integrate students into the professional world, including research and development. The goal is to train high-level researchers in statistics (theoretical or applied) by providing them with both theoretical qualifications, through tailored teaching, and applied qualifications, particularly through a company internship. The opportunities are twofold :
1. In research or as a teacher-researcher, in the university environment. Various research fields (agronomy, biology) call upon statistics teacher-researchers, thus creating interdisciplinary collaborations.
2. In business, as a professional statistician. This involves meeting the considerable needs of the industrial sector for "statistical engineers," capable of statistical analysis, of course, but also of modeling new phenomena. Without forgetting the decision-making problem, decision-making statistics is a vital decision-making tool in various fields; many statisticians are recruited within companies as consultants.
Inferential Statistics; Bayesian Statistics; Queues; Time Series and Process Statistics; Decision Statistics; Stochastic Modeling; Data Analysis; Programming, Monte Carlo Methods and Simulation; Probability; Extreme Value Theory; Risk Analysis and Decision
To complete their training, master's students can complete an internship within a company during semester 4 for their dissertation. They can also write a startup dissertation, which will allow them to benefit from financial support from the supervisory authority and more easily integrate into the professional world as a startup.
