Program Overview

Graduation studies in medical sciences in Algeria, leading to the Doctor of Medicine degree, span seven consecutive years. They consist of a rigorous program that includes theoretical courses, tutorials, and practical work, aiming to provide students with a comprehensive and in-depth education.

Training Program:

The theoretical courses cover essential foundational subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and pathology, offering a solid scientific foundation. These disciplines are crucial for understanding the normal and pathological functioning of the human body. In parallel, students undertake clinical training in various specialties, including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, and psychiatry, in order to acquire the necessary skills to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.

Tutorials and Knowledge Enhancement:

Tutorials play a key role in deepening theoretical knowledge. They are organized around the analysis of complex clinical cases, critical reading of recent scientific articles, and differential diagnosis exercises. These activities allow students to develop rigorous clinical thinking, which is essential for formulating diagnostic hypotheses and justifying therapeutic choices.

Practical Work and Clinical Experience:

Practical work is an integral part of the training, with anatomical dissections that allow students to explore the structure of the human body in a detailed and interactive manner. In biology and biochemistry, laboratory work is carried out to understand the molecular foundations of diseases and treatments. Students also participate in progressive hospital internships, where they are exposed to real clinical situations. Under the supervision of experienced doctors, they learn to examine patients, make diagnoses, and actively participate in the management of care. These internships offer an essential transition between theory and practice, allowing students to develop practical skills in a real medical environment.

Thus, medical training in Algeria offers students a balanced path between theory, research, and clinical practice, preparing future doctors to work in a wide range of specialties and to face the challenges of modern medicine.

Teaching Language : • Primary: French (lectures, exams). • Secondary: English (scientific writing, research papers).
