Program Overview

This program aims to contribute to the development of a solid foundation of knowledge in Islamic law (Sharia) and civil law, aligned with the needs of the judicial system, particularly in the following areas:

·      Training of judges

·      Training of lawyers

·      Training of notaries

·      Training of bailiffs

Given that the majority of cases brought before the courts concern family law, and that the main reference for the Algerian Family Code is based on the provisions of Islamic Sharia, it is essential to train judicial personnel who are well-versed in the rules of Sharia across the relevant fields. It is also crucial that these professionals are capable of engaging in contemporary ijtihad (legal reasoning) based on derivative evidence (secondary sources of Islamic law).
