Program Overview

Bachelor’s Degree in Earth and Universe Sciences

The Bachelor’s program is structured over six semesters, in accordance with Ministerial Decrees No. 439 and 440 dated March 30, 2022, which define the curriculum for obtaining the Bachelor's degree in the field of Earth and Universe Sciences, Geology branch, with a specialization in Fundamental and Applied Geology, respectively.

At the Ali Kafi University Center – Tindouf, students follow the path outlined in Ministerial Decree No. 440 of March 30, 2022, namely the Applied Geology specialization, which spans six semesters.

The first five semesters form a common core that all students must follow. The program aims to help students acquire and understand the fundamental language and methodology necessary for scientific learning in the field of Earth and Universe Sciences. Additionally, the inclusion of field training enhances this educational pathway even further.

After achieving this foundational goal, the sixth semester is dedicated to acquiring specialized knowledge, with the main objective of preparing students to pursue advanced academic studies in the field of Earth and Universe Sciences, specifically at the Master’s level.

Admissions Information

To obtain a degree in the field of Earth and Universe Sciences – Geology branch, a scientific or technical baccalaureate is required.

University degrees are awarded in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The national Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees are granted based on the accumulation of a specific number of credits (ECTS), which are part of the Graduation Cycle.

The academic year consists of two semesters, with each semester comprising 30 credits, meaning one academic year equals 60 credits.

The Bachelor’s degree is awarded after completing 180 credits, at a rate of 30 credits per semester, which corresponds to three academic years.

The Master’s degree is awarded after completing 120 credits, at a rate of 30 credits per semester, which corresponds to two years of study after the Bachelor's degree.
