Browse Programs Admission InformationThe Doctor of Pharmacy degree takes six years to complete. It is divided into 2 cycles; the first cycle lasts two years and is based on the teaching of fundamental sciences. The second cycle lasts three years and focuses on the pharmaceutical specialty. The final year is devoted to internship.
The program comprises theoretical and practical teaching over the five years. It consists of :
- Lectures,
- Tutorials,
- Practical work,
- Simulation teaching,
At the end of the fifth year, a plenary session is held to select the internship departments and the theme of the final dissertation, which can be either a classic dissertation or a 1275 project (startup).
Internship placements consist of three (3) rotations in various university hospital and public health facilities ( University Hospital, Maternity Hospital, Blood center and Cancer Center), and include :
* clinical biology
* clinical and hospital pharmacy
* pharmaceutical sciences and practices
Assessment is carried out by each internship supervisor, in accordance with the procedures set out in the internship logbook provided to the intern on the day of integration.
At the end of this year, students must defend their final dissertation, after having validated their internship.
Fundamental sciences teaching in the first 2 years
In the sixth year, the student can choose a classic theme for his dissertation or an innovative or start-up theme with the possibility of acquiring a patent.
An average of more than 16/20 in the baccalaureate is required for admission to Doctor of Pharmacy studies.
This requirement varies from year to year.
Pharmacy studiesare reserved exclusively for holders of the baccalauréat in the “Experimental Sciences”, “Mathematics” and “Mathematical Techniques” series.
