Program Overview

. Training of a doctor who can work in the public health sector: general practitioner: the official duration of the program is seven (07) years.

• Training of a doctor who can work in the public health sector: specialist doctor: the duration of the training is 4 to 5 years depending on the specialty.

• Training of a doctor who will pursue an academic path: admission to the rank of assistant university-hospital master through a competitive examination.

Admissions Information

From the 1st to the 3rd year

Admission to the next year is based on an annual average of 10/20 or higher.

No failing grade (05/20) in one or more units.


From the 4th to the 6th year

Admission to the next year is based on the validation of 24 weeks out of 36 theoretical weeks and 24 weeks out of 36 practical weeks for integrated teaching units.

A unit is validated with a grade of 10/20 or higher.


From the 6th to the 7th year

Validation of the 36 weeks of the 4th year without leaving any unvalidated units as debt.

Validation of the 36 weeks of the 5th year without leaving any unvalidated units as debt.

Validation of the 36 weeks of the 6th year without leaving any unvalidated units as debt.


7th year:

The validation of the 7th year in medicine is conditioned by:

  1. Practical internship of 12 months (internship):
  • Internship in the pediatrics department.
  • Internship in the obstetrics-gynecology department.
  • Internship in a surgery department.
  • Internship in a medical department.
  • Validation of the scheduled internships.


2.Completion of a final thesis:

  • Validation of the thesis by a jury.

At the end of this 7th year, the student is awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine.
