The Mathematics and Computer Science program, with a concentration in Computer Science, provides
a comprehensive education in the fundamentals and advanced practices of computing. It is
designed to prepare students for the challenges of the digital age through a solid foundation in
mathematical reasoning and computational thinking.
Semestre 1
In this, the PhD student takes – modules in complementary training :
The program includes several modules, each consisting of 40 hours and evaluated through continuous assessment. These modules are: Information and Communication Technology, English, Programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Philosophy, and Didactics. Each course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and skills relevant to the doctoral training, with consistent evaluation throughout the duration of the module.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., energy, environment, mechanical/electrical engineering, environmental sciences, chemistry, computer science).
Admission is competitive and based on academic performance, research proposal quality, and alignment with the school’s research priorities.
Candidates must pass a national doctoral entrance exam (concours d'accès au doctorat), as regulated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS).
Applicants must register their thesis topic with a supervising professor accredited by the National Commission and affiliated with a recognized research laboratory.
