In-depth understanding of parasites and vectors responsible for diseases in the medical and veterinary fields and their ecologies as well as the analysis techniques which allow identification and methods of control.

The core modules included in the program are Pathological Parasitic Protozoology, Host Morphology and Systematics, Comparative Anatomy and Physiology of Vertebrates and Invertebrates, Pathological Helminthology, Parasitic Ecology, Zoonoses, Pathological Acarology, and Vector Bioecology.


Advanced Topics

The program's specialized or in-depth modules cover pathological parasitology (pathological helminthology, pathological protozoology, pathological acarology) and vector ecology.

Additional modules (Biological Diagnosis of Parasitosis, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Immunology, Vector Control Strategies and Control, Laboratory Hygiene and Safety, and Biostatistics) assist in understanding and practicing new technologies. Training in scientific research and writing techniques and methodology is based on scientific writing and communication.

The program also aims to familiarize students with ethical concepts in experimental research and associated legislative texts.


Admissions Information

Details regarding admission requirements and procedures:

Hold a bachelor's degree in parasitology.

Have a solid foundation in the core modules of the specialty: general parasitology, parasite vectors, mycology, physiology of major functions, molecular biology, and zoology.

Have completed a third-year undergraduate course (UF) adequately covering the curriculum topics.
