Program Overview

Doctoral studies, organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering, offer research-based training in various fields of electrical engineering, including the control of renewable energy systems, the control of electrical actuators, energy management, the study of coupled electromagnetic-thermal phenomena in electrical machines, the study of the degradation of high-voltage cable insulation, and the analysis of sliding discharges on solid insulation. Launched more than a decade ago (since 2010-2011), this training program is designed to meet the growing demand for teaching capacity and quality supervision, both at the Université Mouloud MAMMARI de Tizi-Ouzou and at other Algerian universities. Its aim is to guarantee a solid academic succession within university institutions.

Curriculum Highlights

Core Courses

Additional courses are provided according to current regulations. The courses taught are part of the teaching responsibilities of the teacher-researchers.

The hourly volume of knowledge reinforcement courses is set at two (02) hours per week. These courses are organized by specialty or grouped by program. A doctoral student notebook is mandatory for the validation of acquired knowledge and for monitoring the doctoral student, which will be introduced into the PROGRES digital platform.

Advanced Topics

Given the country's economic situation, it is crucial to find solutions for this sector. This requires close collaboration with the national industrial sector. In this sense, the main objective is to train young researchers capable of supporting industrial companies in their modernization and innovation processes. This doctoral program thus aims to bridge the gap between the academic and industrial worlds, providing students with the skills necessary to meet the technological and economic challenges of the energy sector

Admissions Information

Postgraduate degree programs in electrical engineering are open to all electrical engendering specialties nationwide, before and after harmonization, by competitive examination.
