Program Overview

The objectives of the PhD program in History are:

- To highlight the historical and civilizational dimensions of national memory across different eras.

- To restore consideration to periods or events that have not been previously addressed, particularly those related to civilization or those that have been overlooked due to selective use of history.

- To deepen scientific research on the subject of national memory to highlight civilizational achievements, value the historical heritage, and derive the human values ​​of Algerian civilizational contributions throughout the ages.

- To document Algerian history on sound academic scientific foundations, to teach and communicate it to successive generations, and to disseminate it in various languages.

- To build a comprehensive national memory based on academic scientific foundations. - Addressing the heavy and complex legacy of colonialism with precision and objectivity, in order to prove and expose the facts of French colonialism and its crimes against the Algerian people, whose umbilical cord extends back to prehistory, and to counter the propaganda promoted by neo-colonialists who glorify the positives of colonialism.
