Program Overview

The field of ForeignLanguages and Literature at the University of Bouira, building upon the Faculty of Letters and Languageswhichencompasses four main languages (English, Arabic, French, Tamazight), offersadvanced doctoral programs primarilyfocusedon English languagestudies and the specialization of Didactics and AppliedLanguages. This fieldaims to developresearchers and experts specializing in appliedlinguistics and English languageteachingmethodologies, as well as advancedstudies in English literature. Admissions Information

The registration of foreignstudentswishing to pursue doctoral studies at the University of Bouira issubject to the proceduresspecified in Decree No. 991 dated August 1, 2022. The followingis the text of Articles 6 and 7 of thisdecree and theirclarifications:

Article 6: Conditions Related to Required CertificatesCertificatesrequired to participate in the doctoral admission competition for foreignstudents:

  • BaccalaureateCertificate: In addition to:
  • Master's or Magister Degree:Issued by a highereducation institution in Algeria under the same admission conditions for traineesstipulated in Article 2 of thisdecree (whichapplies to Algerian students).

Clarification:Foreignstudents holding degreesfromforeignhighereducation institutions must providecertificatesequivalent to the Algerian certificatesmentionedabove, issued by the competentauthorities in Algeria. Certificates must bedulyauthenticated and translatedintoArabic or French if necessary.

  • License to Participate in the Competition:Necessity to submit a license to participate in the competitionissued by the authorized services of the central administration of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Applicants must contact the Ministry to obtainthislicense and submititwiththeir application file.

Article 7:Mechanism for SelectingForeignStudentsBenefitingfromScholarshipsunder the International Cooperation Program: The selection and registration of thiscategory of students are subject to the followingprocedures:

  • BaccalaureateCertificate:Foreigncertificaterecognized by itsequivalence.
  • ForeignCertificate Equivalent to a Master'sDegree or State EngineerDiploma or Equivalent Certificate:Recognized by itsequivalence.
  • Registration outside the number of open places.
  • Registration in one of the departmentsmentioned in the Overviewbased on the equivalencedecisionissued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  • Approvaldecisionfrom the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The services authorized to follow up on the registration files of foreignstudents are responsible for communicatingtheir files to the concernededucational institutions
