Browse Programs Admission InformationThe Master's degree in General and Comparative Literature is, like all Master's programs, a two-year course (4 semesters). It offers a rich and specialized training in literature, with a balance between theory and practical application. It covers fundamental aspects such as major literary theories, Francophone literature, Mashreq literature... New technologies and AI are also highlighted, offering modern perspectives for the analysis of literary texts. The aim is to train professionals, teachers and researchers capable of understanding and identifying the mechanisms of literary discourse. This Master's degree prepares students to meet contemporary challenges in the field of general and comparative literature and its applications. This training culminates in the defense of a final dissertation prepared by the student under the scientific supervision of a lecturer and under the aegis of training in research methodology spread over the three semesters of study (the fourth semester being reserved solely for the completion of the dissertation).

To enroll in the General and Comparative Literature master's program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent: applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or a foreign certificate officially recognized as equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma (license) in French language stream: to enter the second cycle of the LMD system, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or a foreign certificate officially recognized as equivalent.
