Program Overview

Field: Mathematics and Computer Science (MI)

Program: Mathematics

Specialization 1: Partial Differential Equations (PDE)

Specialization 2: Ordinary Differential Equations (ODE)

Specialization 3: Operator Theory

The doctoral program in Mathematics aims to train researchers with a high level of scientific expertise in various areas of mathematical research. In particular, the program enables doctoral students to acquire strong skills in both pure and applied mathematics, with a focus on functional analysis, partial differential equations, and optimization.

This doctoral training, supervised by several professors, is built upon two main pillars. On the one hand, it is supported by the research activities of three laboratories:

• the Mathematical Analysis and Applications Laboratory at the University of Algiers 1,

• the Laboratory of Partial Differential Equations and History of Mathematics, and

• the Fixed Point Theory and Applications Laboratory at the National Higher School of Kouba.

On the other hand, the program benefits from partnerships with key stakeholders in the socio-economic sector, including the CREAD research center.

The collaboration with this research center enriches the program by offering doctoral students opportunities to apply their mathematical knowledge in real-world contexts, thereby anchoring academic research in concrete societal issues. This partnership promotes the development of innovative solutions to current economic challenges.

These collaborations allow doctoral students to explore the applications of mathematics across various sectors. Working closely with such partners gives them the opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced mathematical models aimed at solving specific problems encountered in diverse fields of application.
