Presentation of the Doctoral Program in Computer Science

The doctoral program in the Computer Science track, offered by the University of Algiers 1 within the Faculty of Sciences (Department of Computer Science), includes three specializations: Artificial Intelligence, Networks, Mobility, and Embedded Systems, and Information Systems Security.

This doctoral training aligns fully with Algeria’s strategic priorities, particularly those centered on digital transformation and the integration of advanced technologies, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), across various sectors. In this context, information and communication technologies, and computer science in particular, are key enablers of the country’s economic, industrial, and scientific development.

The objectives of this doctoral program are to:

• Train a new generation of researchers, teacher-researchers, and experts in fields related to Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, data science, and intelligent systems.

• Meet the growing demand for academic supervision by developing specialists in emerging and disruptive technologies (AI, cybersecurity, IoT, cloud computing, etc.).

• Enhance Algeria’s visibility and competitiveness in computer science research at both regional and international levels.

• Encourage the development of innovative projects with high socio-economic impact by supporting the creation of startups, R&D laboratories, and entrepreneurial initiatives stemming from research work.
