Algeria lives under the sign of aridification, hence the primordial role of hydraulic strategies, particularly in agriculture where irrigation is an imperative to ensure the sustainability of agriculture as well as to ensure regional and national food security. Various methods and techniques for mobilising and distributing water (mainly groundwater). Unfortunately, these techniques have been in decline since groundwater levels dropped following the introduction of new techniques such as mechanical pumps and boreholes, as well as climate change. This doctoral course, in direct collaboration with the Scientific and Technical Research Center on Arid Regions (CRSTRA) and other organisations, will focus on irrigation-related issues (arboriculture and vegetable crops). We will try to develop approaches linked to new irrigation techniques that save water and fertilisers (underground drip irrigation, for example).
