Browse Programs Admission InformationTo become a general practitioner in Algeria, you will need to complete 07 years of study in the medical sciences - Medicine after the baccalauréat.
- I have been referred to medical school on the basis of my choice and because I have met the admission criteria relating to the series and results of my baccalauréat.
- I register or re-register for a single year of study at the beginning of each academic year and pay the registration fee.
- During my university studies, I will be entitled to the accommodation, catering and transport services provided by the university authorities under the conditions set out in the regulations in force.
- I can take advantage of the library's services once I have issued my reader's card and read the library's rules and regulations.
- I can join a student association or science club in my department, faculty or university.
- I can stand as an international student representative on the various bodies if I am elected, under the conditions set out in the regulations in force.
- I have been informed that the first three years of medical studies, i.e. years 1, 2 and 3, correspond to the "first cycle of medical studies", abbreviated as "PCEM".
- I am also aware that the next three years, i.e. the 4th, 5th and 6th years of medical school, correspond to the "clinical cycle".
- I have also been informed that the 7th year of medical studies consists of an internship and the submission of an internship report.
- I have been informed that the courses making up the medical degree programmes are organised into modules and integrated teaching units (UIE), which are annual and/or half-yearly, with coefficients.
- In my first year, I follow the compulsory first aid module. A level 1 first aid certificate is issued to me at the end of the course.
- In my second year, I'm also doing a compulsory nursing placement.
- I take the French level test at the beginning of the 1st year: I am assigned to a level (A1, A2, B1 or B2) and I pass the fourth level B2 before the end of the 2nd year.
- I take the English level test at the beginning of the 2nd year: I am assigned to a level (A1, A2, B1 or B2) and I pass the fourth level B2 before the end of the 3rd year.
- I am obliged to attend my course's practical and practical sessions.
- In CDR, I will be excluded from the module or integrated teaching unit (UIE) if I am absent from more than a third of the number of TDs and TPs, even if my absences are justified, and I am not entitled to make up the missed classes.
- I have been informed of the titles of the modules and IEUs, their coefficients and, if applicable, their respective training durations.
- I am assessed at the end of each IBU or module.
- I have been informed of the assessment procedures.
- I have to sit all my exams.
- I will be assessed on theoretical tests (lectures and practical sessions), practical work (practical sessions) and clinical tests.
- I am informed of my CDR logbook, which lists the clinical skills I have acquired and the activities included in the portfolio I completed during my CDR.
- I have been informed that the competences and the portfolio are validated by the head of the department and by the head of department and placement supervisors during the 3rd year.
- I calculate the overall average for the module or IEU as appropriate:
- If the practical exercises are not carried out: Average = mark obtained in theory
- If practical work is carried out: Average = (Mark obtained in theory X 4 + practical work)/5
- I have been informed that the foreign language marks obtained are not included in the calculation of the annual average in the CDR cycle.
- CDR examinations are held at the end of each semester of the academic year.
- I have been informed that the eliminatory mark of 05/20 has been introduced per module and per IEU.
- I have been informed that the CDR system of assessment and progression is annual, based on the acquisition of the year by an overall compensated annual average of at least 10/20 with no eliminatory marks.
- If I am not admitted to the normal session, I can take the make-up exams organised at the end of the academic year. In this case, I retain the benefit of the tests I have taken (theoretical, practical and clinical).
- I will take the make-up exams for the modules and UIEs for which I obtained an average of less than 05/20 (eliminatory mark) and those for which I obtained an overall average of less than 10/20.
- I also take the make-up exam for the test for which I justified my absence at the normal session.
- I pass the year and am admitted to the make-up session if I obtain an overall compensated annual average of at least 10/20 with no eliminatory marks.
- I have been informed that in the clinical cycle, the assessment and progression system is modular, based on the acquisition of all the modules of the year separately without compensation.
- I pass the module if I obtain an overall modular average of at least 10/20.
- I pass from one year to the next in the CDR (from year 1 to year 3) if I pass the year with an overall compensated annual average of at least 10/20 without any eliminatory marks.
- I will progress from one year to the next in the clinical cycle (from year 4 onwards) if I acquire all the modules for the year (modular system) or, in this case, if the number of weeks of modules not acquired is less than or equal to 12 weeks (pass with debts).
- If I am allowed to repeat the year if I fail, I retain the benefit of the modules and UIEs I have acquired and I have to repeat the practical placement and all the modules and UIE (Theory, TD and TP) that I have not acquired.
- I can only repeat the same year once, without spending more than 5 years in the CDR.
- I may be subject to reorientation by the jury if I fail my first year of the CDR.
- I can enter the internship (end-of-study placement in medicine) if I have completed the three years of the PCEM and all the modules of the clinical cycle from the 4th to the 6th year.
- I will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine if I pass all the exams and complete all theinternships.

Admission to medical doctor training at UMAB Mostaganem requires a ministerial authorisation issued by the MESRS.
How do you obtain authorisation?
Ministerial authorisation is obtained digitally via the PROGRES registration platform for international students and Algerian students with a foreign baccalaureate.

Once authorised, the interested party must go to the Vice-Rectorate in charge of undergraduate and postgraduate higher education, continuing education and diplomas and graduation training with a dossier to complete the final registration. The Application Form must include:
1. Ministerial registration authorisation for foreign students.
2. Original Baccalauréat diploma.
3. Equivalence of the Baccalauréat diploma.
4. Birth certificate (original)
5. Copy of passport.
6. 3 passport photos
Registration is validated systematically on PROGRES once the PROGRES account has been validated by the vice-rectorate and the registration fee of 200 DA has been paid via the following link https://progres.mesrs.dz/epaiement/epaiementI.xhtml
