About Us

A. Presentation of the Institution:

On September 3, 2012, through a joint ministerial decree, the University Annex in Aflou was established. It was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, and was later upgraded to a University Center under Executive Decree No. 16-230 dated September 1, 2016.

The center comprises five (05) institutes and thirteen (13) departments. It offers education in seven (07) fields of study, subdivided into eighteen (18) branches, twenty-two (22) specializations at the Bachelor’s level, and twenty-two (22) specializations at the Master’s level. Additionally, it provides doctoral training in fourteen (14) branches.

Key Requirements

Registration for Studies:

Studies in Algeria are generally subject to conditions outlined in the annual ministerial circular.

For undergraduate programs (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and State Engineer), applicants must hold a Baccalaureate certificate (or equivalent) and meet the requirements of their Baccalaureate stream and minimum grade average.

For postgraduate programs (Doctorate), applicants must hold a Master’s degree, State Engineer diploma, or equivalent qualifications, in addition to relevant field specialization. Algerian students must apply through a competitive entrance process, while foreign students may register directly.

Living Conditions:

In the city of Aflou, there is a university residence named after the Mujahid "Zrouk Ahmed" (may he rest in peace). It accommodates five hundred (500) beds: 250 for male students and 250 for female students. The residence is complemented by a university restaurant, a student club, a hall for scientific and cultural activities, and a covered sports hall.

Student Activities:

Students at the university center engage in various activities under a program supervised by the Directorate of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities. These activities are organized through student-founded scientific, cultural, and sports clubs, which now number over 15.

Complementary Training:

In line with a new vision from the Ministry of Higher Education, university students are being equipped to enter professional life by encouraging innovation and initiative in developing projects that can be transformed into mini-enterprises or startups. To this end, a university business incubator and an entrepreneurship development center have been established. These entities oversee both theoretical and practical training through workshops and provide ongoing support to students in this field. The university center has a dedicated facility for this purpose.

The university center ensures streamlined academic life for students by providing digital services, including electronic platforms for remote registration, file submissions (such as transfer requests and scholarship applications), and distance learning platforms.
