Program Overview

The bachelor's degree program is spread over 6 semesters in accordance with Ministerial Orders No. 439 and No. 440 of March 30, 2022, which establish the curriculum for obtaining a bachelor's degree in the field of "Earth and Universe Sciences," in the Geology track, with a specialization in "Fundamental and Applied Geology," respectively.

At the Ali Kafi University Center in Tindouf, students follow the pathway set out by Ministerial Order No. 440 of March 30, 2022, namely "Applied Geology," which spans 6 semesters.

The program for the first five semesters constitutes a common core that all students must follow. This program aims at the acquisition and assimilation of the foundational language and methodology conducive to scientific learning in the field of "Earth and Universe Sciences." The scheduling of fieldwork placements further strengthens this learning pathway.

Once this objective is achieved, the sixth semester program brings together specialized knowledge to reach the main goal, which is to open the door to an advanced academic pathway in the field of "Earth and Universe Sciences," namely the Master’s degree.

Core Courses

The foundation of the pedagogical organization of the LMD system is the teaching unit (UE).

A teaching unit includes several subjects taught within a semester. It brings together courses, tutorials, practical work, internships, presentations, and projects.

The teachings are organized into 4 Teaching Units (UE):

Fundamental Teaching Unit (UEF): This is essential for enhancing the foundational knowledge or specialized in the chosen field.

Methodological Teaching Unit (UEM): This unit enables the student to acquire methods for independent work.

Discovery Teaching Unit (UED): This unit allows students to acquire knowledge from other fields and open new perspectives.

Cross-disciplinary Teaching Unit (UET): This unit integrates subjects such as foreign languages, computer science, and information and communication technologies.
