Browse Programs Admission InformationThe Faculty of Biological Sciences and Agricultural Sciences of Mouloud Mammeri of Tizi-Ouzou offers a Master’s program in Microbiol-Biotechnology through the Department of Biochemistry-Microbiology. This Master’s degree is a two-year, full-time program designed to provide highly motivated graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to manage bioindustries (pharmaceuticals, food processing, cosmetics, etc.), environmental industries, and healthcare sectors (analytical laboratories, regulatory bodies, fraud prevention, certification, etc.). The program provides in-depth disciplinary in microbiological engineering, microbiology and microbial biotechnology.

The courses offered in the Master’s program in Microbial Biotechnology will provide graduates with all the necessary qualifications to pursue a career in research. Il will also prepare them to engage with innovative STARUP topics in Genetic Engineering, Microbiology, and Biochemistry. Beyond research training, these future graduates will be well-equipped to create or join development-oriented companies, particularly in the bio-industrial sector, for the production of novel food and non-food products (vaccines, new drugs, functional foods, dietetic foods, etc.). They will also be qualified to work in public health and join government agencies.
The training is aimed at students holding a baccalaureate followed by 3 years of undergraduate studies (BAC + 3°) in Microbial Biotechnology. These students have a foundation in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, physicochemical and microbiological analysis. Bridging pathways are also possible for students from other compatible scientific backgrounds.
