Due to their contribution to socio-economic development and their direct impact on public well-being, biotechnologies now hold a prominent place in the education and research systems of many countries. They represent key challenges across various sectors, including agriculture, environment, health, economy, and commerce. The growth prospects for biotechnology markets are highly promising in countries that actively develop them.

In this context, and considering global socio-economic transformations and the emergence of modern biotechnologies, Algeria has initiated a strong dynamic in biotechnology development. This includes:

·       Establishment of several biotechnology research laboratories

·       Creation of a National Research Center in Biotechnology

·       Establishment of a National Biotechnology Agency

·       Development of doctoral schools specialized in biotechnology
