Browse Programs Admission InformationThe reform of higher education consists, from a pedagogical perspective, of establishing a curriculum structure that aims to enable students to:
• Acquire working methods that develop critical thinking and the ability to analyze, synthesize, and adapt.
• Benefit from efficient and appropriate guidance that aligns students' aspirations with their aptitudes, thereby better preparing them for the workforce by optimizing their chances of professional integration, or for continuing their university studies.
• Better adapt architectural training to the continual evolution of techniques and technologies.
• Respond to the evolving needs of the national and regional socioeconomic context.
• Align architectural education in Algeria with universal standards to allow for greater exchange and mobility.
Indeed, this will involve "validating" the qualities and skills that will enable future professionals to practice their profession in a responsible and professional manner.
Thus, the training profile prescribed by the national educational committee for the field of "Architecture, Urban Planning, and Urban Professions" tends to prioritize practical qualifications while remaining open and "reflective." In fact, while the primary mission of this architect is the disposition and ability to respond appropriately to public commissions in their field, they remain not only a "thinking mind," but also a producer of knowledge. Thus, the practitioner's scope of practice can also be enhanced by a predisposition to engage in research.
From this perspective, the bachelor's degree is the level at which the student acquires the necessary foundation for the profession. The third year of this program (L3) is a year of validation of the acquired and assimilated theoretical and practical knowledge, authorizing access to the final level of university training (cycle 2).
The first part of the architect's training through the license constitutes an INTRODUCTION TO ARCHITECTURAL PRACTICE THROUGH DISCOVERY AND DESIGN (MASTERY OF BASIC TOOLS).
