Architect

The University of Batna 1 offers training in the field of Architecture, Urban Planning and Urban Trades, leading to a diploma in Architecture, in accordance with order no. 1058 dated August 02, 2023. The course lasts five years and leads to a diploma in architecture.

This training is based on the acquisition of architectural knowledge, enabling students to benefit from a theoretical foundation consisting of fundamental knowledge of architecture (which enriches its discourse), as well as practical subjects that provide them with mediation tools for the process of ideation, conceptualization and projection.

- Thus, the first year is a year of initiation to architecture, and familiarization with the architectural language. Its aim is to acquire the tools of expression and graphic and communication representation, to introduce students to the reading of architectural space, and to develop their powers of perception and analysis.

- The second year deals with the integration of a project into its environmental context and the acquisition of notions of comfort, through subjects that will serve to fuel the student's thinking and enrich his or her imagination. The 4th semester encourages students to apply their knowledge to the design of a residential complex.

- The third year is the year of "acquiring architectural knowledge and know-how", from the project's guiding idea through to its materialization (its functional, structural and formal globality, etc.), design and projection,

- The fourth year is devoted to mastering programming and dimensioning as a design tool and as an instrument of reflection in architectural practice, with a view to producing a project ready for execution.

- In the fifth year, the student architect synthesizes the knowledge acquired and built up over the previous four years, culminating in a project and a final dissertation.
