Browse Programs Admission InformationThe aim of the Master's in Civil Engineering, option ‘Hydraulic Constructions and Development ’ is to provide students with the theoretical foundations and the main engineering techniques needed to solve the problems of civil engineering structures linked to the water sector in general: water reservoirs, water towers, hill dams, dams, water supply, sewerage and oval networks, development of hydraulic canals, etc.
The study programs provided are taken from the official programs of the national educational committee and are based mainly on the following teaching units:
Dams
Hydraulic structures
Hydrology and hydraulic engineering
General hydraulics
Drinking water supply
Sewerage
Structural dynamics
Finite element method
Prestressed concrete
Soil mechanics
Algeria is faced with an irregular distribution of rainfall in time and space, not to mention the fact that the quality of this water is greatly threatened by human activities, whether domestic, industrial or agricultural. Faced with these problems, we need to think about a more responsible water policy that respects the environment. This requires major efforts in terms of regional planning. At local and national level, these actions can be summarized as follows:
Building dams, hill dams and reservoirs to reduce drinking water deficits in major urban centers and reinforce existing networks,
Drilling boreholes to improve the water resources mobilized,
Building water treatment plants to protect groundwater,
Improving drinking water safety by building water treatment and desalination plants,
Exploit groundwater at a level that guarantees its quantitative sustainability,
Continuously improve pollution accident prevention and response methods,
Secure the supply of quality and quantity of water for distribution,
This highly ambitious study program requires qualified human resources capable of taking charge and carrying it out. The study training program is designed to meet these needs, by training qualified executives in hydraulic engineering for companies and local authorities.
