Program Overview

The degree in plant biotechnology and plant breeding is designed to enable students to acquire a fundamental and technical grounding, through in-depth teaching of: the evolution of genomes and diversity of cultivated plants; 

quantitative genetics and population dynamics, taxonomy and systematics of lower plants, plant physiology and biochemistry (1 and 2), plant genetics and improvement and finally applied plant biotechnology.

The first year (common core) is common to all biology students. During the second year, two modules have been introduced to the core curriculum: Introduction to Biotechnology and Applications of Biotechnology. The aim of these two modules, which are taught in the 2nd year, is to provide an overview of the various aspects of biotechnology, as well as a mastery of general biology techniques.

Admissions Information

Admission to the Biotechnology and Health program is done after studying the first year of biological sciences, then moving on to the second year by ranking according to the average, then moving on to the third year of the bachelor's degree by ranking according to the average.
