Browse Programs Admission InformationThe Bachelor's degree in Automation provides students with a solid foundation in control systems required for undergraduate studies.
Throughout the course, students explore a wide range of areas, including continuous and sampled system control, electronics, and programmable industrial controllers. At this level, students should gain significant practical experience through the study and manipulation of real systems.
The program alternates between theory and practice, incorporating directed studies, supervised projects, and laboratory work. This training culminates in an internship at a company, allowing students to apply their knowledge in a professional setting while developing their autonomy, initiative, and ability to integrate into a technical team.
The Bachelor's degree program aims to strengthen students' fundamental skills through teaching units focused on the basic principles of automation. These courses provide them with solid knowledge and prepare them effectively for the technical challenges in the years ahead. The following subjects are covered:
Control of Linear Systems
This module deepens the knowledge acquired in the second year and allows students to master the representation of dynamic systems in the state space, as well as to understand the main methods for analyzing and synthesizing control systems.
Microprocessors and Microcontrollers
This course enables students to understand the operation of microprocessors, their peripherals, and interfacing techniques. It also provides an introduction to the various types of computers used in industrial systems.
Sampled Control Systems:
This subject familiarizes students with signal sampling and reconstruction techniques. It covers the analysis of the stability and accuracy of sampled control systems, as well as the application of appropriate analysis and synthesis methods for such systems.
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs):
This course teaches students how to design and program PLCs to control and supervise automated production systems. The module also aims to equip them with the ability to use specific tools to optimize system performance, particularly regarding the control of production cycles and the improvement of industrial process speeds.
Power Electronics:
Students gain a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of power electronics, as well as the operation and use of power components. They master the main static converters and develop the skills needed to choose the most suitable technical solution based on the specific application needs of a power converter.
Actuators:
This course provides students with the necessary knowledge to select components for pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and thermal operational systems. It also enables them to understand the challenges associated with actuators and explore the available solutions in the field of industrial automation.
The Bachelor's program offers students the opportunity to continue their studies in the following areas:
Academic Master's (Automation and Industrial Computing, Automation and Systems)
Professional Master's (Industrial Automation, Control, Electric Vehicle and Propulsion)
This program also provides students with the opportunity to pursue a career in sectors such as automation, artificial intelligence applied to embedded systems, robotics, and many others.
The Bachelor’s Degree in Automation is designed for high school graduates who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance in their first year of science and technology studies, as determined through a competitive selection process based on application review. Additionally, the program provides admission pathways for qualified candidates from related scientific and technological disciplines.
