Program Overview

The "Biodiversity and Environment" specialization offers students a multidisciplinary training of high academic value, clearly oriented towards the field of research. Its main objective is to provide students with knowledge, skills, disciplinary openness, and a level of autonomy that enables them to address issues related to individuals, species, populations, ecosystems, and landscapes. The program also aims to equip students with expertise in ecosystem assessment, management, conservation, and sustainable development.

Furthermore, this master’s program addresses the needs of the socio-economic sector by directing the student’s fundamental knowledge toward practical applications and technical know-how. It prepares graduates to effectively contribute in the field to sustainable development efforts, particularly as Algeria—like the rest of the world—is currently facing challenges related to biodiversity degradation. By mastering these fundamental principles, future professionals will be able to propose appropriate solutions to socio-economic problems encountered in real-world settings.
